Let’s talk Turboant x7 which is an electric scooter with great speed and distance, while still being able to maintain a light structure. Apart from most of the scooters we test, this one has a swappable battery which is really neat.

The scooter provides an excellent ride and is far superior to many of its competitors when it comes to city riding. The advertised top speed of the Turboant x7 is up to 19 mph and a 15.5 miles distance per charge. More than enough for most people’s daily needs. Should you need even more distance, then you can always get another spare battery to increase the possible range per ride.

The best part, right now it’s on sale for $399 down from its original price at $599.
Let’s check the specs and then we’ll go deep diving into why it’s such a great scooter for most people’s needs.

Turboant x7: Review

The Turboant X7 is equipped with a 350watt front mounted hub motor that has the ability to propel you up to 19 mph, I did reach 21 mph going down just a couple of degrees slope.

The strong 350W motor feels way more powerful than your regular 350W scooter. It provides some insane acceleration and I had no problem at all leaving some skidmarks after me while taking off.

It will handle most normal hills just fine, but you will have to help it out with a couple of kicks here and there if the incline is really serious.

"50W
The 350W hub motor and the 8.5″ pneumatic tubeless tire

It has three different speed modes: Beginner, Normal, and Advanced with a respective speed of 7.5, 17.5, and 19 mph. These type of levels makes it a great family scooter where the speed can be adjusted to fit kids as young as 5 and 6 years.

The scooter is powered by a 36v/6.4Ah battery that enables riding up to 15.5 miles on a single charge. I got about 9 out of it riding really hard with lots of climbing etc, pretty inevitable if you live on the Costa Del Sol. I also tried riding on more forgiving roads in second gear and I had no issue clearing 14 miles on it.

It is equipped with 8.5-inch tubeless pneumatic tires that do a really good job of handling cracks and unevenness from the terrain you ride on.

The scooter is equipped with a dual handbrake that engages both the electric front-mounted motor brake as well as the rear disc brake and a friction foot brake. So there are no issues in getting to a full stop. The electric brake engages fast but increases its braking smoothly the longer you hold down the handle.

Riding Experience

Riding the X7 from Turboant is pure joy, even though I, as an enthusiast could have liked a couple of more mph. For this price and with such a strong 350W motor they’ve already outdone themselves.

A fast accelerating, lightweight scooter that beats its competing models with ease. It goes faster than Segway’s latest scooter, Max, and has a much lower weight and price.

Those of you who regularly read my reviews know that I love things that go fast and I must say I think this is one of the best combinations for a portable scooter I’ve seen yet.

With a 29.7 lbs body, it’s light enough to jump up and down curbs while still having a large enough battery to take you on rides upwards to breathtaking 15 miles on a single charge

I felt really comfortable riding along on the X7 and I think it did a very fine job with handling even the small potholes and rough roads around here.

The X7 provides a smooth and from my testing very secure ride. The handlebar has a good angle and is easy to steer, but still with enough resistance to eliminate you accidentally turning.

The folding feature is really neat. It takes very little power to secure or unlock the scooter’s latch so that you can easily fold it together. It latches onto the rear splash guard better than on the Xiaomi scooters and the lookalike models

However, folded down it does present a weakness.

Having the battery in the stem presents a bit of a problem when it comes to lifting it up. You probably already figured it out. The stem gets so fat that it can be hard to get a good grip on it while carrying.

Ok, let’s be honest. I have small hands and it works fine for me to carry around. But for my wife who has even smaller hands, even though she’s super-strong(she really is, I’m definitely not forced to say this), it does get a bit clumsy to hold on too at times and I don’t think she’d be comfortable carrying it for more than a couple of stairs.

"Handlebar

The solution is either to buy this shoulder strap, that will solve this problem and make it easier than ever to carry the scooter. These are very common for those who commute with more than just the scooter, ie train, subway or bus.

Option two is more simplistic, get this strap on grip and voila.

I took it for a nice ride to the store and with my 176 lbs, I was able to score a grocery run with about 50 lbs of groceries hanging on the handlebars and stem hook, which for the record is an amazing feature, yet the scooter still chugged along like the train.

Sure it needed my help on some of the more serious inclines, but I mean that’s a total weight of 226 lbs and that my friend is impressive for a 350W motor.

The scooter performed really well and it sure is sturdy. I’ve been jumping up and down, riding on very harsh terrain and still not a single screw in need of tightening. If something passes my tests without me breaking any part of it, that’s a good sign because I am relentless!

The perks of having a swappable battery

"How
See how easy you can remove and switch out the batter.

I mean for one the obvious perk of being able to have an extra battery readily available should you not have the time to recharge it, or need to extend its range.

The other is that you can always take the battery with you, which if you lock it in a bike rack will make it less prone to theft. Just leave the lid for the container open so they can see that even if they go through the hassle, this ride won’t have a fun ending.

You can also take it out and put it in your bag just to make the scooter easier to handle while carrying. Or if you need to leave it in a bike shed and walk up the stairs you can take the battery with you and leave the scooter.

The battery has a built-in charging port on it so you don’t have to have the scooter with you in order to charge it. You can just plug it straight into the charger.
