Xprit Electric Scooter review – Bargain or trash?

I’ve been on the hunt to find a few really good bargain models to update our top list here with some great deals. Will the Xprit electric scooter be one that fits the bill?

I’d say it has a great shot at making a list just by reading the specifics, but how well does it perform in reality?

In this hands-on review, I will be putting it to the test and see if this scooter really does provide any decent value for your hard-earned cash. If you’re like me, you want to know about this stuff prior to purchase. So let’s just dig right into it.

Note: There are two Xprit 6.5″ models. The one in this review can be found here. There is another one here with suspension and much poorer performance. Even though it cost a lot more, don’t buy that one.

Review

The company Xprit has one aim: to provide good products at a(to me) very fair price. If you’re looking for long distance and a high top speed, then this one might not cut it for you. But for what you pay, I’d say you can get a lot of value for your money especially if you are buying one for the family youngsters to ride on. Depending on their weight, they can pretty much ride for as long as they can stay awake.

The XPRIT electric scooter is a foldable and portable mode of transportation that runs on electricity. It
comes with a lot of power, it might not be able to deliver a mind-blowing ride for an adult. But it sure is good enough for most kids’ and adults needs.

As expected, it is stripped of any fancy features that you might find on other scooters. This is in order to keep that price tag of theirs down to a minimum. The scooter features an LED display, front and rear lights, and shock-absorbing tires for a comfortable ride.

The XPRIT electric scooter has a built-in kickstand for easy parking and storage. It takes approximately 4 hours to fully charge the battery using the included charger. The scooter also includes safety features such as an electronic brake system and an anti-slip deck surface. Its compact size makes it ideal for commuting or short trips around town.

Even though this model is very cheap, the material used is still comparable to many of the more expensive units. The riding specifics are too. You get a good 12.4 mph top speed and a range of 8-13 miles on a single charge. However, the latter number was unachievable with my 168 lbs.

If you run out of juice, you can recharge the scooter in 4-6 hours, which isn’t super fast but acceptable in my book.

Specifications:

Speed up to 12.4 mph

A distance of up to 13 miles per charge

250W hub motor

Lithium-ion 24.5V/8Ah

Weight 23 lbs

6.5” hard rubber tires

Maximum user weight allowed of 200 lbs

Can tackle slopes up to 10 degrees

Up to 4-6 hours recharge time

Budget family choice!

If you're on a really tight budget, or if you're a large family that needs more than one unit. Then the Xprit 6.5 inch electric scooter is a really good choice. It boasts a large battery of 8Ah that can propel adults up to 13 miles on a single charge. If you put this in the hands of a 7- to 13-year-old they will get an even more impressive distance of around 15-20 miles.

Riding Experience

I really came to like the Xprit model. The model that takes electric scooters to the general masses is perfectly priced while still bringing a lot of power to the table. I might not get the high number of 13 miles on a single charge with my 168 lbs, but if you’re around my weight, you can still expect something in the middle, like 9-11 miles.

It doesn’t have that rear foot brake that most other scooters have. Instead, you will have to make do with only the electric brake. Luckily, should it ever malfunction, the scooter only does around 11-13 mph, depending on the incline and quality of the road. So if you need to brake really quickly, you can always just put those feet into the ground, and you’ll stop instantly.

It folds together neatly, and this was one of my concern areas. It has a very unique position of folding, which I thought could be a weak point, but it wasn’t. I really put a lot of pressure on the folding section while riding just to see if it would snap off. Lucky for me, it didn’t.

It handles terrain just as well as its competitors, with higher price tags but the same aesthetics for the tires.

A cute little kickstand will let you park it easily. Just make sure you use a good lock because it’s very lightweight, so if someone decides they want your scooter, they could easily just pick it up and walk away.

Last words of recommendation

The Xprit scooter is for those who really want to ride but cannot or will not invest a large sum into their first electric scooter. This is totally cool when you have units like this that perform so well for those on a tight budget.  This is really one of the top affordable options out there, and I expect sales on this model to blow through the roof this Christmas season. Everyone will get an Xprit electric scooter under the tree.

The pick for the novice rider or kid who really just want a basic ride that’ll provide good performance at the cost of pennies. Perfect for families where you might need more than one unit.

If you can stretch your budget a bit more, you should definitely have a look at our Swagger 5 review.
